From the Gut, to the Heart, to the Table
Did you know that around 90% of serotonin—the “happy hormone”—is made in the gut? It’s a beautiful reminder that good food doesn’t just fill us up—it shapes how we feel, think, and connect.
I’m Nanda, a private chef trained at Leith’s School of Food and Wine, where I specialised in plant-based cooking—but my love of food is far from limited to that. Growing up in Portugal, between the land and the sea, I developed a deep appreciation for vibrant produce, fresh fish, and beautiful cuts of meat cooked with care.
Alongside my chef training, I became a certified health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, deepening my understanding of how the food we eat—and where it comes from—affects our body and mind.
I also founded Too Many Lemons, a low-waste supper club that celebrates creativity, community, and conscious dining. Whether cooking privately, collaborating with others, or hosting shared tables, I’m always eager to learn from the best in the industry and to keep evolving my craft.
My purpose is to create food that not only tastes incredible but also brings people together—around the table, in laughter, and through moments that become cherished memories.
“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”
Some Testimonials…
“It was terrific. I can’t stop smiling. All my guests are still talking about the food. Honestly, you were unreal. Your team was lovely and I loved you being in my home. I have so much I could say about how terrific everything was. Your presentation was sensational. It was like having the best restaurant cheeseboard and all the food was wonderful. We will only be using you from now on.”

“Having our own personal, on-board chef was so decadent and phenomenal. Thank you Nanda. She made everything from scratch, such as the pastries, Caesar dressing, croutons - everything!! Max and I might be ruined and spoiled on boat life now!”
“She has made this the BEST charter we have ever done. Highly, highly recommend.”
